Car show. Lauder. 2 June. With extras...
Discussion
Just a quick heads-up for the annual Thirlestane Castle Classic and Vintage car meeting on Sunday 2 June. Uusally over 1000 vehicles from Model T Fords to classic sportscar groups. Also the opportunity to get a passenger ride (12 miles of public road) in Ferraris, Nissan GTR, TVR, Jaguars, etc... for a donation to charity. This is organised through Sporting Bears (of which I am one and I'm taking the 430).
It's a great day out to see some very cool, mostly classic and vintage cars and there's usually a steel band, some side exhibits/dubious shopping opportunities and a hog roast.
About 30 minutes south of Edinburgh.

It's a good venue, made much better by good weather. Lots of things to eat around and about and some very interesting cars. Dream Rides include the FerrariF430, Dodge Viper (Stuart), Ultima GTR and a Nissan GTR. Cost around £50 and it's on public roads, so don't expect full throttle if you are interested! Also appearing at the Dream Rides is a Rolls Royce Flying Spur, a few TVRs, Marcos Manara Spider, Cobra (replica), and so on.

Same here, great cars & weather, shame half the exhibitors pissed off at 4,after the judging happened, and they didnt win.
Wanted to treat the missus to a trip in the Diablo but she was having none of it. She also thought most of the really old stuff deserves to be scrapped!
Wise woman! There was no Diablo there!!! The exhibitors had to be on site before 10.30 am and some I was there just after 9 and many had arrived before me. It is a long day!Wanted to treat the missus to a trip in the Diablo but she was having none of it. She also thought most of the really old stuff deserves to be scrapped!

It was a good day. Paul decided to gatecrash in typical mafia style and stole the show! All good fun though and lots of money made for the charity. Knackered, we still managed dinner at India Quay and coffee at Tinderbox. Scared a few diners on Byres Road too with 20 cylinders between us!
I spoke to John Cleland for a while at the show; he'd brought the new F-Type to show off. Nice car, but I won't be accepting his offer of swapping the 430 for it. Lets see what depreciation does to the Jag first
