Been going to LM for a few years now but always failed to make it to decent Porsche curves viewing area. Is the best way in from this road?
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=D92&daddr=...

... or is it from the next roundabout where all the roads are called Beausejour? You can see or Google street view that both these places are close to the track.

Or is it somewhere else entirely!?

I'll be statying on Houx so could come all the way down chemin aux boeufs, unless it is easier from near the start/finish anyway.

Many thanks in advance.

I cycled up between the trees two years ago - walked through the campsite and ended up on the inside of the first Porsche and saw the cars coming down towards me at full tilt - well worth the effort

Another great view of the curves a little further up is from up on the roof of the Alain Prost Karting circuit's pit garages

RIP that excellent view, because of works going on at the Karting circuit and campsite this year.

Hi Vince, is that true re AP pits viewing? I've been watching there since first going to LM back in about 2000 (concession karts are usually good fun too). If true that's a real shame, excellent place to watch.

Well, they are indeed building there, that's the reason campsite Karting Nord is not there this year. Can't find any real evidence if the old pitbuilding will stay or be taken down.

Haven't been there for quite some years, so I can't decide if the building is in this clip yes or no. State of work at Karting Alain Prost in the half of April.

Looking at that it's difficult to make out anything recognisable! Pits could be the low buildings on the far side of the existing kart track, impossible to see just what they're doing with them though.
Spent my first couple of LMs in KN and there was viewing available from a bank now occupied by big corporate stuff ie Audi.

That's a great pity if correct. I guess we'll find out!

Bit worried after seeing that video that the old karting pit garage has been flattened. We used to watch the start and end of the race from there and was one of the few places I know where you can stick on a long lens and get photos of the cars coming towards you with no fence in the way. I recognise the trees and the gendamerie next to the old karting nord campground. Looks like well never be back there. Sob. The pits would have appeared right at the start of the clip next to the fence. Looks like they've built a shiny new building instead further to the right.
