93 Chimaera boot solenoid

Solenoid has burnt out for the boot lock, it was not the original either. Where to get a replacement ? A friend has suggested Maplins.

Hi Andy

Not sure that it's the same on a Chim but the boot solenoid on my 1992 V8S was replaced with a Maplins YD79L 2 Wire Door Lock Motor as a straight swap (£7.99). I would guess that TVR wouldn't have been using 2 different parts to do the same job.

Thanks Bob, the one I took off has a 2011 date stamp on it but no makers name.

Your burnt motor may be the result of the button sticking in. Worth checking before you burn a second motor....ask me how I know.

There's a good pic on the Maplins website so if you've got the old one off then you could do a quick compare.

Thanks does`nt seem to be sticking, just checked.
