Fair play to anyone who can stick with this. I'm 6ft and weigh roughly 10st 10lbs. I'm looking to reduce body fat % down to sub 10% while increasing muscle. I cycle (150 miles per week) for cardio and do home kettlebell sessions. I eat healthily anyway and use myfitnesspal to track and maintain. Read about the paleo idea and thought I'd give it a try to drop body fat before summer holiday in late June. Dropped all carbs and sugar excluding fruit. Day 4 today and I've cracked. I've been relying on my fruit intake for sugar and have felt generally rough since day one. Really struggled with insufficient fuelling on my 40mile ride this morning. I may try again in the future but really well done to anyone who's made this work.
I don't think you should be trying to cycle 40 miles at a go on a paleo diet. Depends on your calorie intake/type before the ride, but you're probably going into ketosis which is making you feel weak and slow on your rides. Particularly if you're new to the sensation.
I'd do a less intense form of CV and fat burning, with lower total calorie burns, if you want to do maintainable fat burning.

Surely at that height/weight ratio you've little or no fat to lose?Have all of the above. Have no concerns over weight and from what i can see give a perfectly healthy bmi. I am trying to slowly increase weight anyway. It was more purely a well done to anyone that can break the need for constant carbs. It's all I found myself thinking of for the past 4 days. Nothing beats a nice bowl of porridge first thing.
Thanks for all the comments. Will just keep going happily eating and exercising as before. Weight loss was never the aim. It was the idea behind the paleo diet that impressed me and having tried i fully respect those who stick with it. The past 4 days would not be sustainable for long.

Too much too ask for most people. It's unlikely you'll succeed at both so just pick one target and concentrate on that. Also out of curiosity how have you measure your bodyfat?

It begs the question: do you even lift, bro?
As Matt mentioned, ketosis is why you feel knackered and if you're going to cycle 40 miles in one go, you need fuel. I understand prior to running marathons, people have pasta parties...
It takes a couple of weeks before you really settle into Paleo, and you should be on a reduced workload for that period. You'll likely be slightly weaker for a month or so after that, too - until you get used to eating the right amount of fats and protein.
That said, it's not magic - based on your current height/weight I can't see you losing much from the switch, and I personally found it exceedingly difficult to gain weight on strict paleo.
