As above,

I am getting ridiculous quotes for the Chimaera so far.

Its a 1995 4.3 - value about 10k. I have 4 years NCB and an advanced licence, 34 years old and had TVR's about 10 years. I was paying about 300 quid on my last chimp and that was several years ago, now getting quoted well above that- Surely it must qualify as a classic by now? its nearly 20 years old.

Sits in a garage most of the year, maybe 2-3k miles use.

I was only paying 165 quid for a 911, Esprit Turbo and a 924 on a joint policy last year - unfortunately Hagerty dont insure Chimaeras.

thanks

Try Mannings in Henley on Thames. that is where I went to after Hagerty stopped.
About the same prices as Hagerty.

Look in the insurance wiki for numbers and names to call, realistically that's what its gonna take, as no one can second quess which will be the best for you and your circumstances

I alternate between Mannings and RH Specialists.. very pleased thus far in 5 years though never had to use in anger..

The most refreshing thing- when the renewal quotes come through, not out are they often cheaper than year, they are always the cheapest classic quote for the mileage.. , refreshing to deal wit companies that don't try to screw you at renewal...

+1.
Have been with both Mannings and Classic Line, as I want and have track day cover. No increase in premium with Classic Line when I recently added 1000 cc and 100 bhp to the car

That sounds more like it, I was being quoted over 930 quid as cheapest bar flux who I will never use again.

Mine are usually pretty cheap comparitively to others I know, no convictions/ accidents/ 4 NCB on last car, live in a little village where last reported crime was in the 90's etc etc

will give them a call

thanks

Did it go up with your engine swap?

Was it much hassle getting the V5 changed to reflect the larger engine etc?
