Does any one know if you can tell a car has HID headlights fitted by sight only and if they can be retro fitted?
Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

yes because normal bulbs are not that good in comparison

you can retrofit, but to do it with OE parts, would cost thousands as you need headlights with self levelling mechanism

you can do it with aftermarket HID kits for £100 ish but they wont self level ...so you need a friendly MOT tester

I think there is an exemption for sports cars with no load carrying capability. In any case, I thought that the requirements were that if a car has HID fitted then self-levelling and headlight washers must work IF FITTED.

I might be wrong.

Thanks for the info. Is it possible when looking at cars for sale to see from pictures shown to tell which cars have the HID lights?
Thanks Again

Not that you would be able to tell. The ones without them still have the same black cover where the washers would be.

yes I can't see AM having another headlight unit with out them when they can just not fit the mechanism.
