Went to view a cerbera this morning, car advertised with tvr full service history. Got to the owners house and it had no record of reciepts or stamps since 2006?! Crazy why do people do this......

Anyway had the car inspected at the same time by a tvr mechanic so if anyone is considering buying a blue cerbera off flea bay then give me a shout as I have some interesting findings.

Overall car not bad but needs service, tyres rear,, 4 new dampers, front lights as has rusty inners. Plus other bits in the engine need replacing. I reckon 3k would do it. 11k to buy as it is?

I just feel if I buy it I would then have trouble selling in the future due to this 9 year gap of servicing and no mots to warrant the miles since 2006. Last service in 2006 says 21k the mot done lat month says 21500k.

9 years 500 miles, the car did not feel like a car that's only done those miles, surely the car would be ceased up or run like a dog....

Seems to be common, I went to see two or three with FSH that turned out to be just a couple of old bills. A particularly scrappy one (that burst a fuel pipe just before i could test drive it) actually did have quite a few recent bills but each one of started with the line 'recovery to our premisses'.

How many more am I going to view that say full tvr service history and ends up not being true.

I wouldn't mind if they said it's missing a few years etc etc service history, but just be up front with it, otherwise I straight away think he is hiding something... Anyway onwards and upwards for the search of my future cerb.

Well mine was stood for 7years and started on second press of button but as you said had to spend money to get it road worthy but well worth it with all the upgrades done on it.the engines are great on these cars(ajp) tell me another car that could be stood for this long and not be seized like like an super tanker in a canal lock.

if you can get the owner to give you the V5 ref number, along with reg number, you can use the .gov website to pull up previous years MOT history. This will provide details of mileage and pass/fails and advisories.
Surprised the vendor hasn't done this to create some documented history (assuming of course that it hasn't been laid up for all those years)

I've got every bill, receipt and bit of paperwork that ever has been spent on my car, including the original TVR bill of sale. I'm just about to start the second fat folder.

£14k for a nice 22k mile Cerbera doesn't seem at all unreasonable to me?
