Handbrake

Touch wood, the only niggle so far (500 miles in), is the handbrake. I've got the alloy handle and tightened it up today as it was vibrating over 4000 rpm. It's an utter pig to release! It was bad before tightening but I think it's worse now, although waggling it a bit seems to help. My thumb still hurts though, is there a quick fix/adjustment for this??

Release mech is worn, however is their an alloy release button on yours?
I temp fixed mine by placing a packer in the button, it gave just that little more movement as the shoulder was restricting movement.

I wonder what vehicle the handbrake lever is from?
