Can't fault the picture one of the reasons Jessops went bust I guess.

Lovely car. The pic however does suffer from oversharpening, moir and lots of sensor noise close up. Some possibly due to JPEG compression, but most due to the tradeoffs associated with tiny sensor sizes. Phone cameras can be quite good in perfect conditions, but anything remotely challenging such as dusk give them real problems when you look closely. They won't be challenging a good SLR for many many years yet from an IQ point of view.

Jessops went bust because they realised the error of their pricing strategy too late, either through naivety or greediness I guess. Having a high-street-store provide value-add means nothing much now that the Amazons of this world are well trusted and have zero-quibble returns policies (even without the EU legislation).

Did I mention that that is a lovely car. smile

Thanks!

I actually had to resize this by 50% in 'Paint' (of all places!) as the original file was over 4MB and didn't upload... this is only 600K in size. But i do agree, there is a lot more noise than from an SLR etc. But compared to the camera phones of only a year or two ago, they are definitley improving! The main issue, as you say, is the tiny sensor, due to the size of the device, which will ultimately limit their use as professional tool i guess...

Like you say, they are getting better with every generation and of course convenience is a major factor. I'm a part-time photographer but it's a fact that 70% of my pics (and 90% of video) of my family is taken on the iphone, because it's what I've got with me at the time.

Plus my 3 year old has developed a most annoying habit of deliberately looking away when the SLRs are out. Now the 2 year old is copying her.......hhmmmm..

Great picture and a beautiful car.

I work for Nokia, so thanks for being a customer and for sharing the pic. I'll resist the temptation to evangelise about all the other things the device does, but I hope you enjoy it.

Adam, gotta say Nokia is back, in a big way, this 920 is unbelievably good, best phone I've had for a long, long time. Much better than previous iPhones and androids...
