I was reading that doors must be able to be opened and closed both from the inside and outside fro a car to pass its MOT.

Most of the time my passenger inside door button does not work, so they have to use the wing mirror button.

Will this cause the car to fail its MOT? Or is the fact that there is the manual handle make this OK.

Cheers

Greg

thats just what i was thinking. I wonder if their motor passed its MOT.

Just for the record, mine failed but not on the door switch - headlamp alignment and emissions

Emissions ?

I'm presuming this is the first TVR they've ever tested

I would recommend giving the car to your friendly independent and asking them to put it through the MOT at their local MOT station

Don't get me started on that thing.....

Last time my passenger door wouldn't open, I pulled that lever, and it came off in my f***ing hand !

I ended up throwing it in a brook,

Realising it would probably cost hundreds of pounds & weeks to get hold of, I ended up having to wade in & retrieve it.

Damn those electric solenoids

Yeh thats what i'm doing Neil. I should have known better, but the place i did take it to said they had done loads before and seemed pretty sympathetic - until they told me it had failed, took my £42 and said i would have to take it to a proper TVR garage because it had a TVR engine, and then i would have to pay for a full retest!

Sorry to hear it failed!
If you get these things sorted and take it back to the same MOT station, you should not have to pay for a re-test.
My car (Porsche) failed on both these things. The air flow meter was sorted and headlight adjust is/should be easy.
Still it was good that he pointed out that you have a TVR engine in your TVR. Must put your mind at ease!
Good luck and hope you don't have to dig too deep££££

Mine's in today Nervous? You bet.
Sitting here eating my nails wondering.
I know I have a pin hole in one head light and I sealed it straight away to stop it misting up but it may change the beam Gas discharge as well so £250 to replace it!!
Also, I've never had the CATS on since I bought it (they've been in the shed all year) so don't know if they are ok.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure there isn't a Cerb alive that could pass an independant emissions test, Cat or Not.

My Cerb recently passed its MOT. I took off the cats a couple of weekends ago and one of them had half the material missing

Mine was exactly the same! so I've decided that it's best to keep them off as it would only damage them further

I agree. The cats were 200 miles away from Fluff when she was MOT'd!
