My seats are comfortable save for the fact that they are angled in towards the centre console as can be seen in the picture.

Then work out the angle that my leg needs to be at to press the accelerator. Or sometimes I sit crooked in the seat in order to face straight ahead.

See what you mean, I get mine back from the bodyshop next week and I'll look to see if mine are similarly angled..

I've the non AMG, memory seats, don't remember them being angled...

Well, the passenger seat seems to be a lot straighter. I can just about understand offset pedals, but why twist the seat?

It may be slightly off on the runners, I used to have an Audi which did this. You could try running it all the way forwards and backwards to see it it squares up?
