SPOTTED: Tuscan on fire

On my way back South from Stanstead about an hour or so ago on the M11 there was a Tuscan sitting on the North side on fire. Anyone here?

Sheeeet - what colour was it?

Pearlescent Orange one...just about out of London into Essex near Loughton. Engine Bay flames were sooo high too! Male driver was standing a bit too close for my liking and cars were still driving past so I'm guessing it just happened

Thankfully I don't know of any Mid Essex members with a pearlescent orange one.

Still not nice tho'

The traffic was absolutely shocking so thousands of people will have driven past too, not a great advert for TVRs either

Castle had an orange Tuscan in when i went past last week....

Alfessex has just sold his Coppercascade one...which could be mistaken for 'orange'????....wonder where his ex Tuscan made it new home?

I don't think I can reacall ever having seen a pearly orange at Mid Essex.

At least the driver is okay.

When I say "Orange" it's because that's the colour the rear end looked at 6pm from the other side of the motorway! The front was bright orange though as it was on fire!

Unless you are driving in F1, or LMES engine fires are rarely caused by engine failure. Most likely a fuel pipe has melted / come loose, it was electrical, or someone forgot to replace the oil filler cap.

Hopefully if this is the case the actual engine will have suffered little damage and it is only the plastic that was on fire.

Are you sure if it was a "standard" Tuscan? What sort of wheels were on it - spiders or something else?

Exactly the same happened to a friends new Tuscan S.
It was caused by a loose hose resting on hot metal.
As the bonnets are fastened down you cannot spot a problem like this and cure it before the inevitable happens.
