When i use the hot air on the Cerb, it pongs of fibreglass. presumably the system has become contaminted with glass fibre dust from the body shop - possibly from when I had the headlight conversion done.

Any ideas on how to remedy this - without a full strip down?

an old trick,

get a dozen incense sticks, light them up, and leave them burning in the car with the windows shut and full speed air system running in hot-air mode....

and then afterwards, leather cream the whole car up from top to bottom and do the same again without the incense this time....

should do the trick...

Failing that advice buy a full biocontamination protection mask. Won't smell anything, won't have to take anything apart, won't have to burn the incense or nurture the leather and looks really mean at the traffic lights! Not too good for peripheral vision, so turn your head more when looking in the mirrors.

There is an Air Con refresher product around, I noticed it on the counter at a motor factors.

a canister thing that is let off whilst running the system, and it purges all of the nasty bugs and stinks built up in the system.

Could be a gulability thing, but may be of use?
