Front Indicator Replacement Mk2
Discussion
So I thought I'd just blown a bulb, but on closer inspection that b*stard of a speed bump the other week actually cracked the indicator lens. So I have a brand new one to fit and am now wondering how on earth I go about fitting it?
Does the outside cover dome off so I can fit the whole assembly from the front? Do I need to get underneath it? I can see how you can change a bulb through the gap in the splitter if you have the hands of a new born infant, but how do I change the whole indicator unit?
Your help, as always is much appreciated.

The Hella light unit (2BA 009 001-191) is bonded to the Aluminium surround which is bonded onto the front grill.
I think you may need to remove the front grill, but if you have splitters they would have to be removed aswell. My splitter bolts were corroded solid and needed sawing off and new rivnuts fitted. The grill attaches by the two rivnuts in the photos of my "spare" grill.

To change a bulb the centre bulb holder untwists anti-clockwise.
Just spoke to Heath (@ X-Works).... he suggests you take main bonnet off and with a wooden "drift" you maybe be able to knock the light unit backwards into engine bay (removing the bulb first
)...but it depends how well its "glued"... it will be pot-luck if the ring unglues before the light...Otherwise its off with the grill. Not such an easy job...hope this helps.

Thanks very much Glow Worm. When I saw the light appeared to have bolt holes in it I optimistically thought all I may need was a spanner. Sadly as this is Blackpool's finest at work again it appears I will need a pot of epoxy and half the car dismantled.
I think Str8Six will be getting another bit of work!!
Thanks again.

Ok, so I actually got round to trying to sort this yesterday as I had a few other bits to do on the car and thought I would attempt this too. I tried to remove the grill and found there are a couple of screws underneath and as per the pics above 2 bolts holding the grill in from behind. Well I took the winglets off and found the passenger side bolt is accessed through a cut out / access hole in the inside of the inner wing from underneath. However, when looking on the drivers side there is a sensor mounted in the same place and no access hole.
I'm stumped! As you can't access it from inside the service bonnet and by the looks of it even removing the main bonnet wouldn't make any difference. It's almost like you need to wing off!! So does anyone know how you remove the drivers side grill bolt?
FYI, it is entirely possible to replace the horn without removing the grill!
