Since I bought my 993 the trip computer display has been vanishingly faint. Having spoken to a few indies it seems it's a reasonably common issue that, after replacing a bulb to see if that works (already tried), can't be fixed without replacing some whole thing in the dash and spending £1k+. I'm used to it and don't really mind, but....this morning, for a few seconds on and off, it actually displayed the numbers correctly in bright orange as it should (very exciting!) but then went dim again. Has anyone else had this? Could I just have a loose/corroded connection somewhere? It would be nice to have it displaying properly if possible.

The dials are fairly straight forward to remove, I ended up taking them out of my old 993 to remove the condensation marks that used to form on the inside of the glass.

If you are careful and use some tape to protect the wheel and dash you can get them out without removing the steering wheel, even with the computer version.

OBC orange rear light flashing all the time Transistor BS170 on the superior printed circuit (CPU board) faulty.
OBC digital display failed short circuit on Diode 1N4118 located on the inferior printed circuit (LCD array) of the OBC.

some info here for you.
