I thought about applying for a ticket for my Pug 306 D-turbo but thought better of it.
I will just leave it on display in an outer car park where there is less chance of it getting scratched.

Will look out for you all.

Couldn't attend this year 'cause I'm in Italy. What's all this about tickets? Previously I've just turned up (early) and been allowed to "exhibit".

I was in a blue one if you were early - I got there just after 7am. I saw the red one drive past on the track just after me.

Possibly either due to the car being brand new or being very early I got a spot on the grid, lots of interest. Great weather too. I did see 3 other Ultimas there but couldn't find the owners.

Great drive down - awful drive back. 4.5 hours to do about 50 miles (3 hours of it spent doing about 3 miles, no exaggeration). A3 closed.

The only positive thing about the epic traffic jam is that the cooling system kept the water temp just over 80 - although the fans didn't turn off at any point in 3 hours! Neither did the air con get turned off. The only thing with being pretty much stationery for that length of time is the lack of fresh air. Not really bad, but definitely fuel smells in the cabin.

Sit in the traffic with the door open. You can move along too up to about 15mph .

interesting, the fans are really hungry and I would have doubted that the alternator can deliver enough beef to run the fans for 3 hours !

I had my fans running for that amount of time once. I was in South of France and it was hot. I was driving most of the time on Motorway so no airflow problem. I had fan controller set to 75 deg (I have no thermostat. instead a speed controlled electric pump) Despite just cruising at 80mph. Engine temp would not come down. I reset controller to 85 and then no problem. My fans are uprated and draw nearly 30amps. Alternator did not like it but managed to keep up. In the jam waiting to get in yesterday temp never went above 93 even though ut was warm. It wasn't engine temp that worried me it was the extreme weight of my clutch and the fact that I had to leave the car in gear in traffic because my clutch is still dragging (see earlier thread)!!! I can only assume that I have a crank endfloat problem as my new clutch release lever still hits the spring plate even though I have had some material machined off it and all other dimensions are in spec.
I am walking with a decided limp this morning!
