The £192.02 Puma!

Having bought a decent Puma a month or so ago, another very cheap one appeared on my eBay searches the other day, and on Monday evening I won the auction for the princely sum of £192.02!

Tax and test out at the end of the month, but only needs a bit of welding underneath for a pass.

It's Y reg, has done a genuine 68000 miles and has had a lady owner for the past 7 years.

Picked it up last night, and I have to say that I'm delighted with it. Drives really well, and condition is very good throughout - usual rust on the drivers arch, but saveable I think. The interior is very clean - almost immaculate in fact.

The difference in driving a car with half the mileage is very apparent. The older one is OK, but the newer car is really, really good. Much tighter and more precise.

There are a few items to look at - seller reckons the water pump needs doing, and the heater valave has gone, as usual. Also due a cambelt, so I'll do all three when I have it MOT'd . Parts cost is less than £1oo for all those, and I'll do the work myself.










All in all, I'm amazed that it was so cheap - it's a really great car. Just got to sell the other one now - the bank account has taken a hammering recently!

I'm 6 ft 2" and 16 and a half stone, and I fit fine, though it is certainly snug.

It's too nice for that. And, there are no tracks for miles - the SW has barely made it to electrickery!

Those arches are missing the optional Brown.

I've recently sold o/h's older, rustier, higher mileage Fiesta for quite a bit more than that to put things into perspective. Looks tidy enough to go for at least 3x that once MOT'd.

Great little car! Had it a couple of years, surprisingly nippy and never does less than 55mpg in general use, and I have had 72mpg out of a tank when in Scotland last year.

Not very PH, I admit, but for cheap and economical motoring (with some character) you can't beat them. Kind of like a modern 2cv/Beetle.
