Just a quick thankyou to this forum's existence!
Had a fuse no7 problem tonight and because of this forum I was able to direct the Green flag bloke straight to the problem
.
If it hadn't of been for the search facility on here and the willingnes for peeps to share there info I would have been proper worried tonight
.
For anyone who hasn't had a fuse no7 problem it is quite scary!
When you press the ignition the main beem stays on, the hazards stay on, the wipers stay on
.
Was funny as feck to be honest as I was in the process of taking my mate out with his road angel to calibrate my speedo.
Tried to connect the road angel into my lighter and it just fell apart on me
.
When playing about with it I must have blown the fuse
.
All well that ends well eh?
.

How do things start when a fuse blows? From the cicuit diagram the fuses are all as expected on the route from the battery to the 'thing'.
I assume some funnies with common earths in a car where earth is hard to find. But surely this is a problem of too many earths rather than too few?

I have had the Fuse 7 experience. I was at the petrol station filling up, got back in the car and the thing went mad! Horn, wipers, washer jets all going! Door wouldn't open so I spent all afternoon testing and resetting relays and boxes and it was the bloody fuse!
I guess its called personality!

THANK YOU - I picked up my new (Well '96 but new to me) Cerb today. Got it home and all hell broke loose, hazzards on, washer motor on, Drivers door & boot not working. Previous owner said he had never had similar problems. In the end called the RAC and the very helpful bloke checked all sorts but gave up after 90 mins. Just saw this on the forum and tried FUSE NUMBER SEVEN - that was it. Every Cerb driver needs to know about it, a 25p blade fuse fixed it all. I guess it was just my new Cerb's way of saying hello. Oh well, will sleep much better tonight having fixed it.
Hello Dr. Martin!
Glad to see you're still alive! Jason informed me that you bought a Cerbie and I thought I might find you posting here.
BTW, hows TVR ownership treating you? Any break downs yet?
Car ownership is looking prospectful though. Me and the old man are building a Caterham next year!

Hello mate
.
Car is loads of fun and makes up for it's err character shall we say by being great at the important things
.
Caterham eh? Sounds cool
. Building it should be a great experience too!
Do you see J's mate Adam? I hear he's bought himself an S14
.
If you see/talk to him please let him know that I have spare wheels and a SS middle section exhaust and other stuff he can have for nowt
.
Cheers

Glad you're enjoying the Cerb. (I would too!
)
I keep in contact with Adam regularly and I think it's an S13 he's got. Would the centre section still fit do you reckon? It's a Blitz item no?
On a separate note it must be a pretty exciting drive to work what with Bob in his Evo 8! And, just out of interest, who wins?

Not just saying it but I own Bob in a straight line
.
And when it comes to corners I'd say me again (in the dry
) although driver plays a part he he
.
Bob said it was an S14, it's a mongoose centre section in good condition
.
Can you let him know? I'll e-mail you my mobile No if he wants to get in touch
.
Remember this stuff is going for nowt!
What engine you going for in the Caterham?

Cerbies kick some serious booty in a straight line!
I'll get in contact with Adam soon to tell him.
I'm getting a Toyota 4AGE engine put in (Same one as in the back of J's MR2) tuned to about 190-200hp. With that it should have slightly over 300hp per ton. Not too bad for a 21 year old to handle!
I'm a bit of a lurker on PH but keep posting and I'll be around to take the mick out all your ownership fiascos!
Take care mate.
