After some good advice, the time has come to spend some serious money on my chassis. It is in rather a bad way and I would have thought will need replacing as a whole. I am looking for any places that come with good recommendation. I am based in Cornwall but understand that I am more than likely going to have to travel.

You help will be much appreciated

Took mine to him, didn't think there was a problem but wanted to be sure and put in place some protection for peace of mind. Nice guy, knows his stuff, told me mine was one of the best chasis he's seen for its age - would have let me go without charging a bean. Suffice to say, he's got my servicing in a few weeks time

I very much doubt it will need replacing.
Most of the rust will be in the outriggers. There may also be some rust in the lower chassis rail and for some reason this is quite often beside the gearbox bell housing. Each time we see it we still can't work out why it would be just there. Anyway all of this can be fixed rather than a whole replacement chassis.
Wishbones may need replacing if bad. The time taken to repair them is not justifiable against buying new.

They are less than a mile from the A1/A46 junction for getting there, and about the same from the East Coast main line station for getting home. Newark is 1 hour 25 mins from London Kings Cross.
After all, it's not exactly a do it while you wait job, is it? You are welcome to stay overnight at mine if you need to - I am 2 mies away.
Alternatively there must be someone closer, including the previous poster.

Thanks to you all for your help. Steve D Thanks for your reply, funnily enough I had been looking at your web site. Perhaps I could give you a ring in the next couple of days and have a chat
