Honda Civic 2.2 SI-T

Just thought I would post up the Honda Civic 2.2 SI-T I purchased from work about one month back. I originally intended to buy this to then sell on for a profit as I got it cheap through work and knew it had been very well maintained. However due to my Golf blowing up (near enough) I have been using the car for the last few weeks myself to get around.
I must say from the start this is the best diesel hatchback I have ever driven in my personal opinion. This includes the Mk2 + Mk3 Focus, Mk6 Golf and the Seat Leon along with a few others. The reason for this mainly is due to the engine it is a 2.2 diesel with approx 140bhp and is an absolute peach for a diesel it really is remarkably refined and has all the punch you would ever need in the real world. It is also fun to drive the steering feels pretty direct and it has good road holding and seems quite eager on the turn in with a slick 6 speed box. The only downside is the fact it does have quite a firm ride and is not as complaint as say a Mk2/3 Focus I would say the Focus has a better chassis (just) but it is a big spongy compared to this and not as sporty feeling to drive due to the extra body roll. Also the engines in both the Focus and especially the Leon seem pretty harsh compared to this.
The other thing I love is the styling inside and out, this car is getting on for 8/9 years old and yet it could be released today and still be the most modern and funky looking car in the sector. I actually prefer it to the new civic and in this SI spec it does look the part imo. I love the touches on the interior such as the rev counter, red start button and the blue lighting in the footwells and it just makes the car stand out from the more boring rivals and makes it feel a bit special when you get behind the wheel. The actual plastics themselves are a bit cheap in places but being a Honda whilst a Golf may feel better I doubt it will actually last as long!
Overall I am loving the car so far and really do enjoy driving it a lot more than expected with me actually preferring it a lot more than my GTI!

t rear visibility making parking in smallish spaces as photographed a bit tricky as don't really trust the parking sensors...

Yes looks like a type r replica almost I am sure if you wanted to remap this then it would probably be quicker than one as well! However torque will kill the clutch and don't want to keep it too long so leaving it standard as it is already pretty quick for a derv.The new civic is indeed a mess just looks like botched facelift of this model imo I have tried the new 1.6 diesel engine however very briefly (one of the site managers has one) and it is bloody impressive for a 1.6 diesel so it's a shame the car is so ugly!
I really do like the interior on these! and the previous civic is MUCH better than the current generation which as said just looks like a mild facelift gone wrong, wtf is with those rear lights that stick out a mile?
for a 2.2 diesel 140bhp doesn't really sound much these days though? I guess must be pretty big scope for gains from a re map?

Yes interior is cool and all the controls like a/c etc are near the wheel and driver focused only downside is seat could go down a tad lower for my tastes...for a 2.2 diesel 140bhp doesn't really sound much these days though? I guess must be pretty big scope for gains from a re map?
With regards to remap they go to circa 195bhp and 320lb so are in fact quicker than a type r afterwards!
It is just clutch is weak on these cars it was improved on later models like this (2010) but it still really needs uprating as wld not last long...
Also personally I would look at upgrading the brakes as well as for me they are not strong enough for the power the car has as it is really
