Damn, missed the last one due to unfoeseen events.
Is that a pic of George W being interviewed in amongst the scrolling images at the top of the Page?
I suspect that one reason may be that in the current climate it seems less viable. Just guessing but I think the market has been changing and somehow if the major retailers are going to the wall and the manufacturers can't be relied upon to turn up year after year (Nikon were the only constant attendees afaik) then to continue would be a big gamble.
Oh well, no doubt something(s) will eventually pop up to try to fill the gap - assuming there is a gap to fill.

No idea but visiting on weekdays for the past few years (not this year though) I thought the numbers looked down and the floor space a little emptier each time. For 2 or 3 years I popped along on 2 days - it looed similar both days, though the retail stores seemed busy.Guess that leaves the trade show at the SWPP Convention as the biggest photographic show in the UK now.
However the loss of Jacobs and the lack of any obvious successor (or at least anyone who could draw on a reasonably large retail based work force to man the stands) may have been a challenge.
Likewise the manufacturers - Sony rocked up one year with a huge presence, but only once as I recall.
Innovation in printers and scanners? .... well, no, not really and probably not enough interest by now to pull many people in.
This is not unusual.
I trade show I used to attend regularly years ago on behalf of an exhibitor and subsequently as a visitor has reduced its size, reduce the number of days, changed dates a few times and this year moved the whole gig 5 months earlier to run in conjunction with (or maybe be swamped by) 3 or 4 other 'combined' events.
That the events might just have similar client connections and so some cross pollination of interests might have been a factor of sorts but more likely seems to be the probability that they now all share an organiser.
Things are changing. In the Photographic market they may already have changed more than we yet realise.

Shame! It was the one chance in the year to immerse oneself in the hardware, software and equipment et al. The fact is was at the NEC was a bonus. I guess if it does reappear it will be in London.
Rumour from another forum that there's already a replacement been announced, Future Publishing putting on a 2 day show in London in Q4, over 200 seminars over the 2 days by all accounts.
