Does anyone know a UK supplier of ATE super gold type 200? The recommended one? (ieally near Bournemouth)

Was going to do my frake fluid this weekend. I have halfords dot4 which is probably the same, but something tells me I should use the good stuff. Or do you reckon its OK?

Standard road use.

Eurocarparts on ringwood road Poole sell some pretty decent & OEM brake fluids (some ATE, Racing Blue (not OEM and can cause warranty issues apparently), Valvoline) etc.

What's wrong with ATE Super Blue Racing - readily available. Its exactly the same temperature rating as the Gold and the price is the same - its just a different colour.

I got some ATE Racing Blue from GSF was about 13 quid a litre, eurocarparts also stocked. They didn't have gold but I checked the specs they are identical. Will stain resivior, but at least I can see its flushed and then good for 2 years.

Better than paying someone else 80 quid and I can put that towards something useful.

I've not tried it myself yet but apparently the Performance Friction fluid is also excellent.

Halfords stock Castrol SRF if you want the best, although expensive, brake fluid.

Did it today with ATE racing blue. I must admit the colour change made its so much easier.

One litre did all 4 corners just about exactly. Shame I didn't have enough for the clutch but that's for another day when I do the transmission fluid, with the amount saved I can probably invest in some ramps to get under without fear of being crushed.

Also took the time to empty the resivoir before, this is what took the most time.

You need a turkey baster!

I thought a turkey baster was some kind of brush thing. I wondered how this made the job any easier but clearly I did not know what this thing was! I used a syringe, but as you can imagine, it took an age.

Then all the prep having towels everywhere, and general disorganisation (as always on a first time job).

I'm sure if doing again it would take an hour. I'm ashamed to admit it took nearly 3 or even 4 smile

In hindsight I should have made a youtube video for some fame smile

If anyone does know where to buy the ATE Super *GOLD* stuff I'd love to know.

The idea is you alternate from Blue -> Gold -> Blue every change, so as soon as the fluid is *all* gold (or all blue) you know it's all fresh fluid. Besides colour, they are exactly the same fluid.

Why not just alternate between ATE Super Blue and Motul RBF? Both top fluids.

Maybe just me but I don't like the dark blue look in the resivours, can't beat the fresh clear gold tint!

But performance wise both RBF600/660 and Super blue racing are spot on.

Racing Blue is great but I've read of warranty claims being rejected where it was used... Never had a Porsche under warranty so not a worry for me.
