you wont be able to use 60L of a standard tank before running out of fuel... 50L is close to its max...
The tank DOES however hold over 60L of fuel... I changed my tank design so I can use safely every bit of the fuel in my tank extending its range by 15L... in fact my last fill up took 61L of fuel
Saying that I 'only' get 250-300miles from a tank on long runs... much less if i'm silly with the right foot!
when my car was standard I often got 300miles from a tank on log runs (250miles was a norm)... but it only took around 50L max of fuel on a fill up... I did run out once so I know how low it could go lol

Fuel range is something I've been wondering about, pending my future ownership.
I've seem 28 mpg quoted, and would hope to easily score over 200 miles from a standard car on a run. Much less than that proves impractical for touring IMHO.
How much does the mpg drop for those running say 400hp, percentage wise?
Remembering back to my TVR (5ltr Rover V8), I'd get 280 miles easily out of a tank on a run. But once I changed the cam and re-chipped, I was lucky to get 200 miles. This proved a right pain having to fill up all the time. I'd always carry 5ltrs in a can too, as the fuel gauge was for guidance only. Not possible in an M12.
The tank mod seems like a great plan. Easy to do, or a redesigned tank?

The day I picked my GTO3 up I drove from Mansfield to Glasgow filling up at Doncaster then got all the way home (225 miles) on a tankfull, 36L filled it up and works out 29 MPG! Happy with that! Car is lightly tuned and mapped to 375BHP. Think I have been getting sub 20mpg since then though but that's down to my driving lol!

Pretty chuffed with that !
Luggage for two and 1.5 people in the car, I have been told I now weigh as much as a jeycloth though.
