THE POLL SHOULD ALLOW FOR MULTIPLE ANSWERS.

I used to really enjoy going to TIPEC's (unofficial Porsche Club) National Days when I had Porsches and think it would be a great idea to have an Aston Martin National Day.
Obviously this year is too late to organise and as there's plenty of 100th events and meetings already sorted we could have it next year.
I'm thinking basically a static car show for PHers, AMOC members and general public to attend.
It could be in a field but as this can have problems (mud, ground clearances etc) i'm thinking concreted area, such as at Gaydon Heritage Museum?
Also, I think it needs to be a casual, friendly, low key enthusiast event which would keep costs down and numbers up?

Could we start a discussion on this?

I like this idea and would be very happy to help organise something.

I am not intending to go to a single 100th Anniversary celebration as firstly I'm busy with other things, and secondly there is a lot of bickering and secret handshaking going on amongst the AMOC organisers and a lot of champagne and 'lifestyle' canapes by the 'P' Branch at the factory ('P' being Pretentious). It's not my bag.

Gaydon sounds great; there is also Haynes Museum or Brooklands as a possibility, though Brooklands is very far south for the Northern monkeys to consider smile

Are you going to the Hever Castle meet? Non-AMOC endorsed (although they are there and welcome of course) and one of the best meets of the year, every year yes

I am an AMOC member BTW smile

Great idea all in all. I'm sure you'd get many owners (and fans) out for a single event per year that otherwise would stay hidden away. I like the idea of no frills, however I'm not sure if some form of entry criteria would need apply just from a crowd control PoV, even if it's tickets in advance only as opposed to owners only.

I've been to (and helped out some) many other Marque gatherings in the past, so if you do need a hand then just shout.

+1 I'd help but not on a committee
What about RAF Cosford as a venue?

Yeah, I think Hever Castle is pretty close to this already, though it's not exactly central.

If it doesn't get used this time I might organise something for there.

Thanks for votes and comments. I've a friend who works at Cosford and says this would be a good venue with the museum.
Re the Hever Castle comment, I went last year from Lancs and its a trek. And it's nothing like the National Day I can envisage.
I'll try and put some meet on the bones of my idea and post here over the weekend, but keep the votes and comments coming.
Cheers peeps.

I don't know about that. With all I've been reading on the AMOC lately I've had to put in an order for some red trousers.

Hmm, all this talk of red trousers; I haven't been following the threads!

Typical, just as I get used to tweed, everyone changes frown

Cosford looks good; thinking of RAF Benevolent fund, HfH or Poppy appeal as a charidee slant? Makes people feel better about having a nice car yes

Could the 4 people who offered to be part of the organisation committee put their names below?
I'm thinking of setting up an email group so basic discussions/ideas can be had to see if this is feasible.
Cheers Phil

I put my name down Phil yes

As long as its not an attempt at mass-imbibing in a hops and malt fermenting plant, I might be OK...

Mako, don't have the time for the committee, but I could offer an event web site; design, CMS, SEO, Blog, Gallery and registration page.
