Hi All

Picked up my new Vantage a couple of weeks ago, and been meaning to post on here, but only just got some half-decent pictures, and I know they're legally required by the forum.

Was in the market for a 4.3 but in the end the budget got 'stretched' (by using some man maths) and we have just sneaked a 4.7, that as a bonus seems to have most of the options you could spec. We put over a 1,000 miles on her the first weekend after we picked it up, on a trip taking in what felt like most of the roads in Wales, and it didn't miss a beat so hopefully that's a good sign.

Was glad I went for Tungsten in the end, as even after the Wales trip, she still looked great, but spent last weekend getting her back in the condition she should be!

Hopefully, we'll make it on a few of the trips that get organised - I saw something about Hever, which is fairly close to us.

Not sure if I have done these pics right...

Welcome and a beautiful car too, you'll love it!

Curious as to all the laurels and winners hat - anything to do with bikes ( looking at the Calander in your garage)?

Congratulations and well done putting a thousand miles on in the first weekend. You do know you've just halved the resale value!

Great colour and we await news of your planned upgrades. Clear lights are of course a given and Mr Hall will be along soon with the offer of some sill plaques that can be delivered at Hever smile

Hever is a regular meet. The Dog and Duck is rapidly becoming an institution for those of us in London and those prepared to travel.

Oh, nearly forgot. Just ignore anything George says 'cos he's a knob biggrin

Thanks all,

Steveatesh - The laurels are from cars rather than bikes; nothing flash, production Alfa's and BMW's mainly, where costs are reasonable. Unfortunately, it could be noted that most of the laurels have seen better days, indicating my fastest days are behind me... I have grown to love bike racing though, but only as a spectator (under orders). They are definitely not from Morris dancing, as anyone who has seen me dance could confirm.

ICE27 - i'm guessing you may have a similar spec...Good spot on the Sat Nav. As we had only just got the car and hadn't mastered the built in high-tech unit, thought we would take the 10 year old £75 Tom Tom. Worked a treat, and now having some experience of the OE, I suspect it may stay in the car.

V12Woolie - Slightly concerned I have used up over 20% of my insured mileage for the year in the first weekend but what the hell. I don't think there will be too many other long trips this year so we should be okay. I'm trying not to think about resale just now... besides, my man maths helped persuade me that an early 4.7 would always be desirable and easy to move on!

Zeus (dog) appreciates the compliments and wishes to say that he doesn't usually have a 'climatic' expression on his face and it may just have been that I had nailed his nuts down to make sure he didn't jump up on the paintwork.

Welcome to the world of Aston Martin.

Your car looks really good. Mine own is almost identical, just a slightly different shade of grey and silver calipers.

Re. the reference to George. I think you will get along just fine, because your car does not have chavy wheels, a big front aerofoil, sticky-out bits, or carbonfibre. George just seems to have strong preferences, about how a car should look.

I don't think you have had the usual suggestion yet, to remove the front number plate plinth. Some prefer not to have it, because then the whole of the famous grille becomes visible.

Two schools of thought on clear lights. Some prefer to keep the red ones on grey cars, for contrast reasons.

Enjoy.
