I will say that I rarely hold traffic up, although overtaking slower traffic is more of a challenge....

Happy driving driving

I have to say we had a caravan in the family when I were a lad and it was just hellish according to my idea of a good time.

I enjoy getting to the destination and my ideal long weekend break away is driving something sublime (say a DBS, which I don't have) to a nice little hotel, parking it outside and wandering inside.

I absolutely hated how long it took to get anywhere with a caravan. The drive itself was crap because you're dragging a big stupid lump around with you. When you get there you have to arse about jacking the legs down to level it and pick up all the stuff inside that's scattered itself all over the floor. The gas usually runs out when you're hungry and trying to cook and you need to carry water and chemical toilets around.

It's just my idea of a crap time!

To top it all off, everyone hates you and do borderline dangerous things just to avoid ending up behind you.

So, you've got a Superbike or a Race car that you regularly race at circuits all over the UK, and this caravan is what you park in the race paddocks and stay in over race weekends...right? Right???

Not wanting to put a damper on proceedings, but i'd get some more security on that van pronto.

TA's make tempting targets for our traveling friends, and that clamp won't even slow them down.

It does not normally live there, and there is more security than you can see. Including a car parked in front of it....

I want you to know from the bottom of my heart I hate those monstrosities, and everybody who will have misfortune to be stuck behind you will hate you and that monstrosity even more than I.

Happy Caravanning!

Well, I reckon it is great, and the tow car too. I would be owning a larger caravan if we had the room on our drive but of course would need to upgrade our tow car.
Max length caravan we can get on the drive is 6.477m/21'3", and that is with the post to which we lock it set in concrete only a few inches from the wall. frown
