Have we ruined our classics
Discussion
I sometimes get comments about ruining my classic car. Both cars are used and abused and provide so much fun and excitement. Better than being standard, sitting in the garage and only coming out a few times a year.
One is a 1973 factory V8 and the other a ruber bumper roadster.
I am happy with what we have done and would do it again.

Your money - your car - your choice - you can bet the 'comments' will come from the factory sticker and chalk mark brigade. However - if the cars in question are super low mileage limited production/rare original concours vehicles then the detractors have a point. My own car was a 'matching numbers vehicle although far from concours - everything I have done is reversible!
I left the owners club after a number of members started picking my DS restoration apart.
Wrong wheels, colour, car setup, exhaust etc etc etc.
I did more miles in it during the first year (around 8000, at least 3000 of those at full bore during rallies) than these chimps would have done combined.
PH is a terrific place for finding other people who like to drive, not polish or gripe about insignificant details.
Power to you.

Just to add... You say you use and abuse them. Then provide pics of them sat in a car park. How about some pics to prove it
I've seen a video of the coupe spinning at Castle Combe

In all seriousness the car looked like a real weapon and I'd love to have a go!
I wasn't convinced by the wings but they are the OP's own creation and he said in another thread that he'd seen a measurable lap time reduction with them so fair play, clever stuff (although how he's timing on a trackday when you're not allowed is a bit naughty hence my suggestion the OP should get his ARDS and do some test days).
People have said I've ruined my car by modifying it, but it was done when 205 GTi's were worth nothing, and I thank you for your opinion which I have probably not asked for but got anyway, but it's my car and I will do what I wish with it.
Also having gone for the q car look, most folk like to tell me the 1.9 is better than the 1.6, not knowing that whilst it looks a 1.6 its gained another 325cc 8 more valves, another camshaft and 45bhp.

OP,
If it were the last one left, or one of a mere handful, I would publicly defend your right to do with your own property whatever you wish, but would privately hope that you would not do anything irreversible with it.
In reality, though, in no way is an MGB a rare, irreplaceable item, unless it is one of the few with serious in-period competition history. I like your cars and frankly would not mind a hot-rod Sebring-look V8 myself.
