I'm pretty sure there are instructions on how to adjust the doors in the workshop manual.

There are links to a couple of versions of the manual in the equvalent parts stickie thread.

Thanks, Section B2 of the Chassis manual explains how to remove the doors, I guess that's a start. However I imagine the door angle should be adjustable with the door in place, and there is no mention of any scope to adjust anything.

Both the top and bottom hinge plates are slotted and adjustable from inside the car. You need to pull back the carpet in front of the door and you will see the hinge plates. I found a well padded scissor jack under the trailing edge of the door gave the required amount of adjustment. Horrible, fiddly job to get it right.

Don't use a ball headed allen key in the hex bolts on the top hinge and have the ball snap off in the bolt! Welding a pin to it to pull the damned thing out of the bolt head at that angle is not fun!

Big thanks to Tanguero for the advice. The only thing I would add is don't be too eager to glue the carpet back (fortunately I wasn't) because you may well find the door settles overnight. I tackled this job in conjunction with replacing the emergency door release which had seized. I was thrilled to see the door actually pop open when pressing the button - Result!

Yes, but I've no idea how to do that, so I doubt that will get done!
