New lights

Haveing just bought a 4.0 HC Chim, which I likes...proper job, I am umming n ahhing whether to keep the existing light set up or get the Tuscan style lights.
Whats your thoughts fellow Tivvers/ Do you prefer the original look or the funky new lights???

Original look but with the uprated lights from the VW Lupo (requires a teeny bit of cutting). Personally I think the Tuscan style lights just don't look right on the Chims.

Prefer new style, plus they are much better at actually lighting the way.

MK3 faired in - they were fitted on later models so upgrading to them means you are still keeping it standard. Also cheaper than the tuscan style lights.

IMO the wings don't suit the Tuscan lights. If you need to freshen it up the Lupo lights are very nice and in keeping with the style

My suggestion is first and foremost upgrade the indicators to clear. It's very subtle but makes a considerable difference in my opinion.

If you're still not happy, MK3 faired in is the best look in my opinion. I'm not a fan of the Tuscan lights on the Chim. It blends modern with more traditional and often looks too-mismatched in my eyes.

However ultimately its your car, stuff what we think and do what you want.

Changing the indicators front and sides to clear do make a big difference, the orange ones were probably cheaper so TVR bought them . The lupos do look good. What if you stuck with the original light reflector, got them re chromed at about a price of £100 for the pair? I think the original glass lenses which are patterned don't look as good as the lupo look of clear, so if you could get a qoute for clear glass lenses if a glass company could manufacture them, but i suppose for bespoke glass would cost a fortune I would think.

Just done a Mk3 faired in conversion on mine, there is a thread on the Chim forum with pics if you want to have a look and converted to clear indicators

didnt think about the indicator lights and yes on reflection... They do look a bit cheapo. Where can I get the clear ones?

eBay.

Land rover military lights are the ones but don't be ripped off by the £45 plus adverts.

I think mine were £18 new for the pair including postage.

Seems quite a few Tivvers fit these new lights to replace the existing yellow indicators. Is the change worth it?
