I'm in Rhyl for work next week, any unmissable roads in the area for an after-work hoon? Isn't the Evo triangle nearby?

Also any entertaining routes up there to avoid the mind-numbingly boring motorway slog up from the south-east? Route planners generally coming up with M25/M1/M6/M56.

Just a few, but one of my favorites is from Bala to Llan ffestiniog (The B road) Do it in that direction, and as you drop down the steep windy hill into Llan, you get some very nice views of the coast.
It's normally a nice quiet road too.

Enjoy

When I used to go to Wales I'd head in via the A40 & then work along the welsh roads. Dunno how that fits as I can't remember where Rhyl is though.

The A543 is worth a look and has some fantastic views over the Denbigh moors.

I did 2/3 of the triangle the A543 and the B4501, also the rest of the A543 then A548 and B5381.

Pretty awesome drives, you could have really let rip on some of them but I held back as I know the North Wales Police are really hard on speeding.

Not sure they're that hard, as I was given a (not very stern or condescending) warning when I was stopped for 75mph on the A5 near the bottom of the Triangle.

Although did get a ticket for 86mph on a similar road there.

Not bad for 10 years and about 20,000 miles of hooning.
