The (faithful) remake of the classic X-COM Enemy Unknown 'Xenonauts' has finally come out on STEAM now as a beta. It is £15 and you get all the future updates up to and including the final build for free once you buy it. I played an early beta a few months back and was pleased with the way it was, it captures what made the original X-COM so good, rather than being the dumbed-down version that was recently released.
I've been playing the new version and I'm really liking it. Its built upon the last version I played, and is still pretty nails - I just got my team decimated on Mission Two, which should still be a cake run!
Its worth a look if you enjoyed the original and would like a modernised recreation.

I thought the Enemy Unknown remake that was released was faithful to the original and on Classic Ironman difficulty is incredibly challenging.
Well, as a fan of the original I was disappointed with the remake; there was a big thread about it when it came out but in my opinion it took the original concept, removed just about all of the management out of it and gifted us with a dumbed-down version that was able to sell well across all platforms.I'd heard about this OpenXCOM before but never tried it, I've always used the original version available on STEAM for a bit of nostalgia. Anyone remember that series of games that came out in the mid-2000's that was an unofficial remake of XCOM? Pretty sure the first one was called UFO - Aftermath.
Ah, openxcom is something I used to dip into a few years ago before I discovered the old game on steam.

Another bit of nostalgia seems to be getting a new lease, Space Hulk.
