My little 'problem' is over :)
Discussion
I know a few of you are aware that for some time I've been having a little 'dispute' with a dealer.
If you weren't aware, then please move along - there's nothing to see here...
Anyway, for those who had expressed an interest over the months, it's my happy task to announce that we have settled
. I cannot reveal any details of the settlement (as is normal in these cases), but I can confirm that there is no longer a dispute between myself and the dealer.
Thanks to everyone who sent emails of support over the last 18 months, and also those who were supportive when I met them. All very much appreciated.
Life now moves on, and I now have a little winter project on my hands.
THE SERIOUS BIT. If you are not aware of the background to all this, then its best to keep it that way. Please do not make enquiries of me or anyone else to dig up what is now old news. If you are aware of the case, please do not discuss it in this thread; please do not name (or even hint at) the dealer; please to not discuss or speculate on what settlement may have been reached. In fact, just treat this post as an announcement and a thank-you to all that offered support, and not as the catalyst for a thread to discuss things better left alone now. I'm sure Ted will have this well policed though

good. another nice open resolution to a problem helping us all to know the good dealers from the bad...
to be fair this isnt a "normal" bad service issue. Its a longstanding matter that was subject to legal proceedings, as no doubt you can tell from the "settlement". Its a matter best laid to rest as william suggests.

Don't mean to be picky, but "those" who knew about your dispute will probably be aware of the outcome.
Why bother posting at all?

To add to that a little, your point is no longer an issue just as the dealer in question is no longer a dealer...

well done mate, you must be relieved.
Is it too much to ask whether you in fact remain the owner of the car?

aha, will plump for that being affirmative then
glad to hear its sorted anyway, I am sure you had the sympathies of a lot of people and it all went quiet once your website went to ground.... oh, and you can re-quantify the "current value" in your profile now I trust

erm, why would they? this was an open(ish) matter for some time before it went underground for various reasons. I am sure a number of us that were following it some time ago are pleased to hear its been sorted now.

I knew about the issue from previous history but obviously didn't know the outcome. It was good to find out though.
Maybe Ted should rattle his padlock

fancy bringing your winter project out to play with us next season ?
the spirit is willing, but the commitment is weak!
I don't think I can allocate the necessary time - especially the travel. If every round was held at Knockhill it might be a different matter though
I was certainly harbouring some fantasies about getting it on track competitively, but I fear nothing will happen until the kids leave home and/or start earning
by which time I'll be drawing a pension and driving with a rug and a nodding dog on the parcel shelf. Who knows though. WB
