Registration Number

When I acquired my Cerb a few years ago, I took out an HPI check which identified a registration number change in the past.

If I wanted to find out what it was, can anyone advise how best to obtain this information? I cant find anything on the DVLA website so I assume I would have to write to them - unless anyone else knows a better way?

Is there no reference on the old mot or in the service history
Did you get a manual with the car

There wasnt much in the way of paperwork - just the book with service stamps etc. (I know, I know!).

The book only records the VIN number. The earliest date I have for the registration number is 2005, however the HPI states a transfer had taken place, so I assume before then...

I have been trying to rebuild any history etc but the dealerships (Brooklands and Peninsular) are defunct.

A full HPI Check will list all the vehicles past registration numbers.

As mentioned a full HPI check should give you details of any VRM changes and if there are any markers against them. A basic check will not do so. I have access to HPI, if you want to PM me the details i'll run another check for you and see if there's anything listed?

Many thanks Russ. I have a list of previous keepers and copies of the documents, yet each time the number plate quoted is the original. I must assume that the old one was kept on retention when the car was sold on....
