Yeah look behind near side rear wheel. Mine needs replacing too. I think Robert on here replaced with marine grade, which is what I want to do

In fairness it is the low pressure side of the pump.I am not convinced marine grade is the way to go.It is very infleaxable and I suspect this is part of why it fails.
I am replacing with fuel BS approved 12.7mm ID hose. Can't be worse than the bit I removed!

Looks like the bit between filler and tank at a guess, but mine was fubar as well. So well worth checking, these cars are getting on for 12 years now.....

Would anyone recommend fitting an inline pre-pump filter when replacing that hose? Benefits being protection to the pump ?

Happens on lots of cars. I went to braided with UNF type connectors on the Alpine, much more peace of mind, the hose clips can do lots of damage, then when you add age and weather etc.....

Fitted last night, quite fiddly getting the hose in place .It is a short piece of hose and routes in a fairly clumsy way.
However I think the union at the bottom of the tank now smells of fuel.
It is a two copper washer arrangement and I had snugged it up well just not fully happy with it.

Do you think it needs new copper washers ( and where on earth from ??)
Can they be smeared with some sort of sealant , what may work here ?

Thanks

David

I think you should always use new copper washers as they depend on compression to create a seal, clearly once used the compression has taken place and they cannot be compressed further to remake the seal

Argh...
Even with new copper washers there is a slight weep now.
Is there some magic goop ?
