Just thought i would share some info...........

Renewal came through from Mannings £340, for a 2000 mile policy. Got a quote from Aviva, like for like, but with up to 4000 miles for £260.

Might help anyone searching for a better deal smile

Good info, but insurance is a very personal thing that will most likely never be exactly the same for two different people,it's another option though to ring if they might be competitive.

I'm paying quite a bit more than that, is that fully comp?

Insurance comes into its own when you make a claim. Mannings were great when we made a claim but when we were with Tesco (becsuse it was the cheapest quote at the time) the service was shocking and I spend hundreds of hours calling and writing so just ensure you are happy saving £80 and that you may have more issues if you have to claim. Hence we only use specialist insurers now who tend to be more sympathetic - yes there may be a premium but I believe it is worth it.

I agree withh FFG, go with the specialist brokers. I am currently with Classic Line for the Griff. They know the cars, when I speak with the guy that deals with these cars he is aware of all the variations in the Griff etc. I am currently paying £220 for a 3000 mile stand alone classic policy with a guaranteed value (had to send photos etc), this includes cover for the occasional use to and from work (on those rare sunny days). It all boils down to your personal circumstances, where you lice etc. Regards, Pete

FlipFlop is right, it's the policy terms that count. You might get cheaper with the bigger organisations but you also get 'preferred' repairers - preferred by the insurer, not necessarily you. Service is better with the smaller brokers because they have to compete. £340 for 2000 miles though, that's well expensive. I pay less than that for 5000.

I've got two Griffith 500's with Mannings. I pay £460 per annum for the pair. This includes agreed valuations and track day cover. Mileage of 2000 per annum on each.

Plus you get to speak to someone who knows what the cars are about.

I've not had a claim hence can't comment on that aspect. In all of my dealings with them so far they've been excellent.

Well worth supporting. David.
