Have a 96 Supersprint- Aluminium Body which is looking rather tired and pitted, loads of little rough patches and dark marks and general cloudiness!!- Mothers polish although brilliant stuff not really touching it to be honest.
I am guessing an orbital polisher is the way forward-but any advise on what to get and use which isn't going to break the bank much appreciated!

I use a random orbital polisher with Metallic T-Cut on mine. Be careful though as it's quite aggresive. That will dull it but will take most corrosion off. Then I switch to Belgum Alu. This is great stuff as it has a gel like quality so it goes on easy and it leaves a waxy finish once buffed off.

As said Mickrick might give better advice though.
