Is anyone else into this? Recently bought the Steam Complete Edition of GTA IV / Episodes From Liberty City cheap on Amazon.com and started to have a play with it. The Icenhancer 2.5 graphics mod seems to have improved things (haven't added the Shaders part yet) and it's a real step up from the 360 version (which I've played to death).

What's the deal with the car packs though? I installed one called Ultimate Car Pack 1.2 (iirc) and followed the instructions but I can't seem to get it to work (it just spawns 100's of Prius and Chrysler 300 C taxis, plus the odd 70's Plymouth). Is there a way around the (apparently well known) "taxi bug" that works? This was in EFLC by the way so maybe it's different in vanilla GTA IV?

Some of the mods look crazy.. Iron Man, Milennium Falcon etc!

Any tips on car packs etc that seem to work well would be great.

I know how to help with that bug you need a file but I cant remember what it is right now, I will post again when I remember, and also I have some amazing cars on my one which I will post up later on.

I did this a while ago - reinstalled without any saved-games, modded it with a load of real-life cars, and then played through the game again. Was really nice to play it with real cars, but still with no broken or mad mods. It's still a fantastic game.

edit: I used this mod, mainly: http://gta4uvp.gamesave-manager.com/

Thanks, that's a cool mod, and easy to use too. The real cars in conjunction with the traffic/taxi bug fix really kill the performance on my pc though (i5 3570K, 7850 graphics).. any tips?

I found GTA4 a real pita for adding mods. Then enb mods killed the framerate or just crashed the game. Adding cars is a chore too. I ended up adding just an Eleanor Mustang but then most other cars around me would be the same model. Gave up in the end and just played vanilla.

This is what I used to fix all the taxi bug and lagging issues caused by it, http://www.4shared.com/file/QVk8zceW/taxibugfix.ht...

I have uploaded this myself, as I cant find where I downloaded it from originally

I hope it helps
