Hi,

I know a lot of people on here recommend them, but is this for general current accounts or more business related?

I'm looking at killing two birds with one stone - my current bank is crap, plus I'd like to move to someone who may have a more supportive view on a couple of projects

Thanks

Don't work for them, but know a few guys who do.

Mainly a business bank, but they do have a personal side as well.

Can't comment as to how good that side of e service is.

They do personal and business banking. Their philosophy is all about looking after both sides if possible.
Individual appetite is down to each branch manager so I'd say give your local branch a call and drop in for a coffee

Thanks. Anyone dealt with them from a BTL perspective? Decent rates/feed?

I had a meeting with handelsbanken last week and was very impressed with them and what they offered. I was looking to mortgage some of my BTL properties to release some funds for additional purchases, but wasn't getting anywhere with any other lender as I have been working through a ltd company for 10 months and all the normal banks/BTL lenders needed 1-2 year accounts.

Anyway, my branch works to 65% LTV with a 5% interest rate. They did want me to take my personal banking to them too which I have no qualms in doing as they really do have a common sense approach and look at the full picture rather than computer says no mentality.

Looking to use Handelsbanken to fund a small property development, they have been a real breath of fresh air. Doing it jointly with my dad and Natwest wouldn't lend due to his age, despite the fact that he has no borrowing, lots of assets and a perfect credit rating, computer says no, basically.

Thats sort of what I'm looking for. Will make an appointment and see what they have to say. Many thanks

Not hugely competitive I'd have thought. Fees?

Yeah, not hugely competitive, they say that their own base rate is 1.5% currently and they charge 3.5% on top. I'm quite happy with 65% LTV, but of course would have been even happier with 75%.

Arrangement fee seems to be 1% of the loan amount with security fee of £150 and valuation and legal fees on top of course.
