Hi All,

My BiL needs a small van for around £3000. Are there any to recommend or avoid? Should we follow the car rules and avoid anything French (although most small vans seem to be French) and go for Japanese/Ford/etc? Ideally it would have sliding side door but its not essential.

I assume FSH and the longest possible MoT's are the same 'must haves' as on a car too?

Thanks

I drove a Peugeot Bipper recently and was very impressed. Also to be found as a Citroen Nemo or Fiat Fiorino.

They've been on sale a few years so hopefully £3k is possible.

The French make great vans and they're very cost effective.

Both car-based (Partner/Berlingo) and next size up (Expert/Dispatch) are great vehicles.

If you really want to maximise your VfM, find the Fiat badged equivalents. Vans are all made in one place; snobbery is the only difference but can save ££s.

True but I want him to keep his feet on the ground financially to begin with.
