Service cost - south east
Discussion
Morning, haven't had a service done yet but had a few bits done, some of which under warranty at stratstone amersham. I've found them helpful to deal with, shouldn't be too far from Berkshire. There are a few indy's in the area so I think they try and keep their prices keen in order to compete. I'm sure said indy's would do a fine job also, though I have no experience of them and you may want to maintain a main dealer history.
I’ve also had a few bits sorted under warranty with Statstone Amersham. Very happy with the service, chap in the workshop seem very helpful on the phone. Only negative is that it was delivered back with feck all petrol…I mean --- miles left. They did have to take it for a test drive, but I’m sure it had more than enough in the tank.
Perhaps stuck in traffic? Otherwise a thumbs up

Statstone Amersham did mine recetly - surprisingly very competitive for a main dealer. They were a bit cheaper than a nearby indie in Bucks and a lot cheaper than an indie in Surrey.
Who was the indie in Bucks? I'm around that way and it would be very handy for future reference. Thanks Hillbilly168 said:
Gents,
Just about to get my MY2012 Virage Volante serviced for the first time. Anyone have any recent experience on best price/dealerships?
Cheers

Chiltern Aston, near bovingdon and chesham I think.notsaV8V said:
Why would you have a 1 year old car serviced by an indie? Doesn't that invalidate the warranty>
No, not in the slightest. That is a matter of fact and its always surprising to see that people don't know it. So you'd use an indie to perhaps get a better job done with staff allowed the time it actually takes to do the job, and at a garage that has less overheads saving you money. That's why

Apologies for the pedantry but... Chiltern Aston aren't actually an 'indie'. They are an authorised Aston Martin service centre: http://www.astonmartin.com/dealers/dealership?d=00...
Fair do's, didn't know that.Hillbilly168 said:
Jon - you make a valid point, and one that I am acutely aware of!! I'm holding out for the Vanquish Volante S though!!
How is the V8 doing? Still running well?
That is a good economic plan James. Wait for a model that might not be made. How is the V8 doing? Still running well?
Yes thanks, the V8 is running well. Only 11,000 miles, which is partly due to that lengthy spell of dreadful weather. Admittedly it is now a 'toy', but it does have regular 30 mile (minimum) drives, to keep all the mechanicals happy.
