Remove a racing number from hood
Discussion
I thought I washed this off when I got back from Santa Pod but it appears to be more stubborn than I originally anticiptated. I certain light you can still clearly see the number so the pen may have stained or scratched the roof window.

I was thinking perhaps some Renovo plastic window polish but does anyone else have a better idea?

I wouldn't have let them put it there. At Shakey they put them on the passenger window. Still a bugger to get off though.
Have you got some of the 303 aerospace stuff from Mike at the Polishing Company. This cleans and nourishes the screen and adds a UV protection. Makes it much more supple and less prone to cracking. It gets the black strut marks off so should help with removing the numbers.

Its the aerospace protectant trigger spray you need.

I used petrol.
And then perhaps a blowtorch to finish
Keep the roof down Matt, then you wont see it
Seriously though ,I used some of that scratch removing polish (manta or something )advertised on telly to polish out some scratches on my rear screen, that should do it . FlipFlopGriff said:

I can thoroughly recommend the 303 stuff, excellent.Cheers gents I'll give that 303 stuff a go. I have been meaning to find a decent plastic window cleaner as my roof window is less than 2 years old and is already looking a bit tired.
Colin you do make a valid point - the roof is normally always down when out and about but unfortunately as the car lives outside it is the first thing I see whenever I leave my house and it is really going to bug me.
Alex - I removed mine as soon as I got back following Derek's advice. Good luck if yours is still on there!

Mate, if Mike isn't coming to the Growl this year I can pick it up for you as I am literally 5 minutes away from his premises. Might even pick some up for myself.
Let me know
