Do all 911 owners drive like W%$ker$ ?

Enjoying a nice and speedy drive home today along the A2, just going past the Canterbury turn off and some young gun (well, about my age) burns up along side off a slip road and then tucks in behind in a 993 LHD C2 (possibly rs, N reg, Bi plane spoiler).
Great I think, traffic is reasonably clear ahead up the hill so I give it the biggie and leave him behind. Shortly afterwards (still going quite nippilly) come up behind a van and as I'm approaching a notorious bit of the A2 where traffic merges from all sides, I rightly ease right up, only to have the guy in the 993 fly up the inside, cutting in and out of lorries and even using the hard shoulder! I felt so physically sick that I was shaking at the wheel!
He was driving like he had stolen in (which he might have?)
He didn't stop driving like a loon though and carried on until out of sight undertaking, overtaking and cutting up all around!
To be honest I've spent the last few hours wondering if i should sell my car!

Beats driving like a granddad.
Granted his antics sound tw@ish, but i Like a spirited drive... why else have a Porsche..
ITs always advisable to find a nice time of day, and a nice road for these sessions...
Respect must be given to other road users, but I certainly dont drive like a commuter.. but I do stick the Law...
If he was undertaking you, were you in the wrong lane

Driving is fun...like anything, some people take it too far.. some just push the envelope, and some spend all their life licking the stamp to put on the envelope!
Which one are you

The trouble is that anyone driving a Porsche in a spirited fashion - and you appear to have been doing that, yourself! - is going to get up the nose of drivers of lesser machines (ie the bulk of the road population

But I don't see why it should make you want to chuck your hand in as a Porsche driver - why give up the enjoyment of such a great car just because some idiot lets the side down? There are enough idiots in other cars to make it impossible to own anything on that basis!
Well, the van i was behind was doing around a ton which for the particular bit of road is too fast anyway, but the guy came up the inside at around 120+ as cars were moving from the slip road onto the dual carriageway! He also tried to squeeze between two lorries going up a hill. Amazing!
If it has been stolen I hope the owner DOESN'T get it back!
Time and a place etc. Maybe i'm getting too old at 30?

Some of the worst driving I've seen was by a Boxster S driver; but nobbers will drive like nobbers whatever the car. It certainly seems like the chap in aceparts's case was a complete dick; no excuse for driving that aggressively. It's dangerous, ill mannered and tars all Porsche drivers. I'm all for fun on the roads - where conditions permit. And that means light or non-existent traffic blah blah blah
Nobs will be nobs, the trouble is when they are in a Porsche they are much more easily noticed and remembered, and we all get tarred.
If there is no traffic around then I'm quite happy to drive teh car as intended
Any sort of traffic and I err well on the side of caution, possibly overcompensating so as not to appear like a prat in a Porsche. I think in general since the 80's Porsche drivers do have a very bad name and I do try to set that straight
Anyway my pipe and slippers tend to come loose if I go over 25mph
Don't sell the car Aceparts, he's the problem not you

Nothing worse that fecking idiots in the fast lane intimidating people to move over and/or undertaking when there are 100 cars in front!

The end game of this line of thought (even with a) is people bunching up dangerously.

Nothing worse than 100 fecking idiots in the outside lane when the inside lane is clear.

There are times I am prepared to undertake (not anything like the the chap in this tale however) and I do know it is wrong.
It is the righteousness of other drivers when you do this that is worrying. Flashing their lights - speeding up to meet you etc etc.
My point is that the people who breach the Highway code by sitting in lane at 70 and not letting a car pass on the outside can NOT argue legitimately about my transgretions in getting past them simply because they are not speeding. An offence is and offence.
