Does anyone know the approx weight of the cerb diff?

I am going to take mine out tonight (hopefully) as I will be replacing the bushes anyway and noticed the diff has a small leak. It will be much easier to do the top bush and re-seal the diff with it out.

Chuffing heavy, don’t drop it!

You can drop it on your own with just a trolley jack easily enough though & pick it up from said jack once it’s down & out...

That will be the plan then - sounds too heavy to drop on my chest and lift out. I have an old tow rope so I will probably tie the diff to the trolley jack and hopefully that will mean I can just lower it and wheel it out.

Fingers crossed.

When I bought my car it had a spare diff in the boot – problem was I couldn't lift it out!

I dropped mine on to my chest when changing the bushes, well not dropped but lowered then rested before moving it off onto a soft matt to pull the thing out,

I didn't find it that heavy, but then i'm a big bloke. but 35-40kg is probably about right.

31.9 kgs with about a foot of propshaft still on it, but without the flanges for the drive shafts.

(I've got a BTR unit sat in a corner at work, which I should get round to selling!)

32kg isn't much - nothing to worry about there. I shall drop mine out tonight.

Tim, it feels a lot heavier when your led on your back under it, proceed with caution as you could get a face full of diff! Unless its on a lift I would use a jack to support it.
Good luck
