Hello,

Don't normally post in this section but thought you may be able to help if your anything like some of the other PH forums.

My mothers car is a 53 Plate Fiesta Zetec, 1.4 I think. 36k miles and pretty mint, well maintained. Over the last year it has on 4 occasions entered limp home mode while driving, massive loss of power, hardly moves! Or won't start. Message on dash is always EAC Fail. Leave it a while, bump it and it goes again.

Have noticed that it seems to be during or after heavy rain. Which we have had a bit of over the last 12 months.

Have searched about and it seems it could be a common thing linked to a number of different faults.

Will I need to get this to a FORD specialist for a computer diagnostic or anything I can check first?

Any advice appreciated - JON

Stands for electronic accelerator control, the throttle body's on these were pretty unreliable when new bit most were replaced under warranty have a good check around the plug & wiring to see of water had been getting in anywhere.

Most likely to be a throttle pedal fault, but as stated it could be a throttle body fault.
I have replaced an ecu on a 2002 fiesta for this fault also but it is rare.
