hey, After having a baby this year, my Esprit turbo, 911 cab and TVR are becoming less used. I am seriously thinking about selling the Esprit and 911 and purchasing an early DB9 V12. I preferably want a manual although these seem pretty rare.

I have noticed alot are for sale around 30k, is there a big exensive service coming up which is why sold on at this mileage?

Also anything specific I should be looking out for, major issues to be wary of?

I plan to keep for a long time so not too worried about depreciation (if any at this price - circa 40K)

thanks

Weirdly, I just sold my 911 cab, Esprit Turbo and Marcos as I never drove any of them, I would always take my manual DB9 when I could!

Tremendous car, hold out for a manual box, they do come up and sometimes a manual Volante comes up, best of all possible worlds smile

30k seems to be where the cheaper cars are settling now, just above the DB7s. 40,000 mile / 7 year service is big, but only adds plugs and could of needed; there's no Ferrari engine-out type service for them.

My dad was a lotus dealer for 25 years - no money in selling them but boy was there a profit in servicing / repairing them! Aston should be heaps more reliable. Lotus = small engine VERY highly tuned. Aston = great big engine, tuned yes but not to the point of imminent destruction!
