Afternoon all.

I've just been to view a Cayenne that I'm interested in buying. The only niggle is the slight rust/bubbling at the bottom of the doors. Anyone know how easy this bit of trim is to replace? And is it pricey? Cheers

There's two bit of trim with corrosion in that photo - easiest to price up from OPC, but bear in mind it isn't unusual to see this on used examples.

Thanks Marcus. It's pretty much the same both sides. Do they simply pop in and out?

They stick on from memory, also available in black.

Yes, they do stick on - need to be levered off. They roll up on themselves bit by bit as you do it.

You'll need something to stick the new one on - I used number plate double sided tape. Seemed to work OK.

The strip of black trim under that can curl away at the edges too. I fixed mine by heating it with a hair dryer and some superglue!
Still ok after six months.

Thanks Davek. Did you get the replacements from an OPC?

Nice.

What did you use to peel off the old ones with? I guess attacking it with a knife wouldn't be for the best.

While I've got you here - do you know how much these are to supply? I'm not a million miles from you.

True - if I'd realised all the others were upside down, I could have done the same to match.......

To answer the question about getting the old one off - I think I used a screwdriver. You'd need a sturdy knife (mine was easy, because one end of it was already bent out slightly as if it had caught on the back of the front door).

Here is all the trim - you need the tape as well. BTW, they take a fair bit of effort to get off the car.

Those trims were subject to a campaign due to corrosion/quality; worth checking with OPC in case it missed the recall?
