Well, after getting my other half a Canon G12 last Christmas, she seems to enjoy using it, and the next logical step is to get her off the 'auto' setting and on her way to understanding what the camera can do for her.

In my head, She needs to think about her pictures more, rather than just pointing and shooting - but then again I know nothing at all about it.

She is more interested in scenes/objects than people, but it is her birthday coming up, and I would like to get her some kind of tuition, although I don't want her scared off with anything too technical at the beginning.

Does anybody know, or can you suggest a sensible way forward - we live in Shropshire, but can travel anywhere really.

I'm open to all ideas, as this is the most enthusiastic I have seen her for anything.

Cheers,

Tom (and Ems, although she doesn't know it yet)

Check out your local college, they'll do a range of evening courses lasting a few weeks for £30-£40.

This is the sort of thing you can find, unfortunately you've just missed this one but they'll be doing another one soon enough.
