Hi fellas,

I have just signed up for a lease on the above. I was wondering if anyone had any ownership experience of them or any other thoughts or advice?

I've had mine about 8 months and its a very good car!
Fuel economy is great for a biggish car
Its not the quickest but its not bad on acceleration.
The cabin is very nice place to be and very hushed at m-way speeds.

Thanks for that. I previously had a Boxster but 90% of my driving is spent on the motorway commuting from Manchester to London. Figured the Merc would be a better fit for my needs! Pleased to hear the comments about the cabin and motorway refinement.

I have a E250 diesel cab which I use as a daily driver. I also had a E250 coupe for two months when my car was involved in rta suffering mostly suspension damage and rear panel bodywork damage. In the past 18 months of ownership i'm averaging mid 40's mpg (from obc) with mixed driving which is very reasonable for a big car. The four pot diesel engine is a bit rattly upon start up and you do feel the clatter upon heavy acceleration. The gearbox (7g tronic) is great and i've never bothered with the paddles with this car as they are useless (and i'm not averse to using them in my other cars). In comfort mode it munches away the miles in great comfort but the engine is not as refined as the BMW 520d or as good handling. The interior's are better in the Merc in my opinion (I have the optional nappa leather which is very nice to the touch)and I went for the Merc cause I prefer the looks. Would I get another one? Probably not but if the deal was good, then probably yes.

Hi kashn,

Thanks for that. Yep, that's how I see it. All things being equal it probably wouldn't be the first thing on the list. However, the deal is simply too good to ignore and you wouldn't get anywhere near an A5, 3-Series Coupe or any other near equivalent for the monthly payment. I think it will be a very nice thing to have for a couple of year while not costing the earth.
