Old Style Ford Key Fobs

Hi guys newbie needing favour and advice please ? I restored a Mk 2 Escort 1600L she is looking kind of cool in her bronze paintwork and just about everything in her is of her era oh yes she is definitely a she I can put some pics up later on if anyones interested. Now then what I want to get hold of is some old style key ring fobs I got one in red leather with a dealers name on one side and phone number and the Ford logo in the oval.
Its as authentic as it gets as I got if on an old boy who had kept it for some years and the phone number is the old 5 digit ones. I have looked on e bay and some other places and there are some but they are too new maybe if I put a pic of the kind on it may help. Anyway any pointers other than e bay greatly appreciated oh yea reason I want another set is that the mrsgpo746 has decided to take her out occasionally and she wants them to look good in the purse she is a good driver probably more careful than me so it would be nice to get her one

I can't help you with the key fob but if you want to be that specific about the fob then for the 5 digit telephone number to be correct depends on the year and geographical location
I can remember 5 digit numbers in the 80s (excluding local, regional? or national dialing code), I can't remember when the 6 digits came in (and then the extra 1 in the national dialing code) but I can't remember 4 digits so I guess they're from the 60s and before
older folk might remember more or those that knew the dealership be able to tie the phone number down to within a few years
before anyone says I'm being picky remember I'm not the one with a period key fob and the OP either wants the detail correct or he doesn't not my concern either way and what details he wants I'm fine with

no man thanx for the help but the keyfob I have is genuine from that age as the old boy I got it off had bought a car from them in 1978 and its the old style fob I want to get I enquired from the dealer on the fob and they explained that back in the day they would order them from ford who then would put their logo central in the fob with the dealers name above it and contact numbers below the reason they ordered from ford was that the logo was fords and they were able to use it legally or something
Escorts are so expensive now and most seem to be RS or Mexico even if they didn't come out the factory that way, with many being modded for retro classic look so originality isn't as easy to find as on some models
but there's bound to be an expert on these things for you some where
try also the classic Ford clubs for the other models as the key fobs generally would have been the same (I'd have thought)
Capri clubs tend to have good historians, perhaps Cortina, Granada/Consul or even now Fiesta
and no doubt somewhere there are key fob collectors, if you don't want a pristine fob (for a classic?) you might get one very cheap

what Ford? they probably done a 1300, and LS LX GL GLX GLX Ghia, E, and 2000, 1800, SL, XL, LG, XLG, and all permutations of combinations in their whole colour range in 2 door, four door, estate, van, with extra packs and without extra packsI might have exaggerated a bit there but yes to my memory there'd be loads of 1600Ls

haha I mean 1.6L but you know what I meant it was in its day pretty much the standard one you would see around on the streets, back in the day we had a mark 1 well dad had and that was a 1300L on a k regthen a later 1300L just before the change to the mk2 he never had a mk 2 though
This one was a good find I would like to get a MK2 Granada for next one

I might have exaggerated a bit there but yes to my memory there'd be loads of 1600Ls

I had a 1978 1.6L four-door which I loved dearly. Over the first few years I had it I gradually improved it. It ended up with updated suspension and a Sport engine and box, and a complete Ghia interior in it. It was stolen at one point and I thought I'd never see it again, then two months later I found it, by complete accident, in a hotel car park, and got it back again. Fortunately the insurance still hadn't paid out so I was able to avoid it getting written off. Ran it for several more years until the tin-worm got it. Probably the car I'd most like to have again of any I have had.

They brought out the Escort Popular and I seem to recall it was £1299. Most seemed to be white. Later, they brought out the Popular Plus. I have the brochures in the attic. IIRC they the expanded the concept to the Fiesta.Back then, their model designations were all over the place, with GTs, Ss, Supersports, Sports, E's...
