Brembo 4 pot brake conversion
Discussion
I wanted to upgrade the brakes to Brembo 4 pots, but wanted to keep the original Estoril wheels.
I had to change the wheels to 16" to get the clearance as the discs used are 324mm from a RS Focus.
Original brake set up:-

Old disc and new disc side by side:-

Disc and Calipers fitted:-

Bloody tight but the wheel fits with 6mm spacers:-

The whole conversion cost £350, a hefty brake upgrade for little money!
Many thanks go to Alex (Gasmunkey) and Rigga (Martin) for help and support

Hi
Have you got the part numbers and did the brake calipers just mount direct to the ford upright?
The calipers are from a BMW E38 (sourced from ABCalipers on eBay) £170Have you got the part numbers and did the brake calipers just mount direct to the ford upright?
The Discs are Focus RS Cosworth (2wheel drive) £88
The adaptor bracket came from EBay at £60 (oldphonebloke)
Pads are OEM BMW E38 Pads £30
The adaptor plates require the original caliper mounting holes on the stub axle to be tapped out to 12mm to accept the bolts that come with the adaptor plates, very easy to do as the original holes are the perfect clearance size for tapping out to 12mm, no drilling required

I wonder if they would fit behind 16" Team Dynamics pro Race ..
When yopu say tapped do you mean you have to make a thread ?

Would this stop me doing this brake upgrade.

Depends what size you drilled the hubs out to Daz, there is only so much metal there to work with. Would this stop me doing this brake upgrade.
Though as David says above there are possible work arounds if you don't have the material left to tap.
